The Ministry of Health is currently reviewing a business plan for a new Sexual Reassignment Surgery centre here in Vancouver. To support this application we are asking for health care professionals, community advocates, and the transgendered (and allied) populations to write letters to the Ministry in support of this centre.
Foci can be on personal experiences, financial costs, community support, access to services, whatever you want it to be.
There is some urgency to this – please write the letter as soon as possible. The decision is currently under review.
Letters should be written to:
The Honourable George Abbott
Minister of Health
PO Box 9050
STN PROV GOVT
Victoria, BC V8W 9E2
With a copy to your MLA.
Please spread this as far and wide as possible within the province. Only by making our voices heard that this centre is needed and wanted will it every move forward.
Despite a sudden snowfall, MVK’s December event was a great success with a gratifying turnout. Thanks to all our volunteers, River Light for her presentation and everyone who came out.
Thanks also to everyone who donated to our charity drive for the Vancouver food bank.

We’ve got even more cool stuff planned for the new year.

Manners are My Kink— Basics in Recognizing and Understanding D/s Protocol
Ever wonder at some of the behaviour you see at the dungeon? Want ways to bring some more rituals into your scenes?
This workshop explores ways some people have of setting up d/s protocol in their relationships and
scenes. Anika will discuss topics such as recognizing and interacting with people who are engaged in different kinds of formal manners and the meaning this can have in people’s lives. We’ll also get to see some ways to bring ritual and protocol into your own play.
For over a decade Anika Stafford has been designing and leading workshops on a host of sordid topics concerning BDSM, poly, queer and kink sexuality. She has recently, masochistically completed her graduate thesis with York University.
