What is Metro Vancouver Kink?
MVK is a new, pansexual, not-for-profit society for the benefit of kinky people in the greater Vancouver area. Once we settle on bylaws, name, constitution and other details, we will officially incorporate as a society under the BC Society Act.
Are you BIO, Vancouver Dungeon or anything like that?
No, we’re a separate entity. Many of the people involved have ties to those organizations, but we are a new organization with separate leadership, finances and so on. We will also have a formal membership, unlike other organizations. Vancouver Dungeon is our monthly party series.
What happened to VDSC, Vancouver Dungeon Steering Committee?
VDSC was an interim temporary group that became the executive board of MVK.
Why should I become a member?
You get reduced admission to our regular events, free drink tickets, entrance to future members-only events, and more. You also get to vote in general meetings. This lasts for one year.
Full memberships will go on sale once we are incorporated.
I’ve purchased a voting membership. Is that the same thing as membership?
Voting membership is only good for 60 days after being granted, and only gives people the right to vote in annual general meetings and special general meetings. It doesn’t include the benefits mentioned above. The $5 vouchers also discount membership fees.
Do you have membership reciprocity with other groups?
At the moment, no. We may have such a policy in the future.
How do I get into your events?
If it is a public event, such as our Vancouver Dungeon monthly workshops and parties, just show up at the door. No ticket or reservation required. We may have invitational or members-only events in the future, but the majority of our events will be open to the general public, as long as they are legal adults, i.e. 18 or older.
Is there a dress code?
Most of our events will not have a dress code, though we do ask that people dress up a bit. Nudity and street clothes are acceptable.
Can I attend your event alone or do I need to bring somebody with me?
Unless specifically stated otherwise, we have no restrictions on singles attending our events.
What can and can’t I do at your events?
There are rules sheets posted at our play events. If in doubt, find a Dungeon Monitor, wearing a red sash, and ask for guidance.
Is sex, as in genital intercourse, allowed at your events?
We plan for some of our events to have designated areas (”Red Light Rooms”) where sex is allowed.
How do I volunteer?
Email volunteer@vancouverdungeon.com and we will contact you.
