- Gregory Fung has been in the Vancouver public S/M community for 2 years. He has participated in several volunteer organizations, including his strata council, university program student society, and professional societies.
- draya maurer: i am interested in people, the way people get along with each other seek greater understanding of each other passion intelligence ideas. i’m a geek. on and off the edge of several kinky communities for about ten years but still rather new to playing. i’m often been content to sit and watch what’s going on around me but i’d like to participate more. i have a bright feminine aesthetic taste when it comes to kink but sometimes i want to be called sir. my interests are diverse. i’m a creative person; i write. i make stuff, take photographs and want to make another short film. i want creative play. i’m glad to be a part of providing people with education and the space and safety to explore.
- Spencer Macdonell I wasn’t a founding member of VASM, but I was “lucky” enough to be there for the constitutional meetings and both my first husband (who wrote for Drummer) and I were on the board at various times. I was involved in the founding of the NLA, the first (and many more) Living in Leather conference, my first female partner was a founder of PowErotic, the first women’s SM group in Vancouver, I was Male Co Chair of NLABC for a long time (we had the second NLA chapter), and did time
on the (inter)National too. I helped out on the Kinky Couples parties at New Horizons with both my partners and was on the board of Vancouver Jacks. Then the second husband wanted into VASM, and I helped behind
the scenes a bit, they went from humming and hawing, to making a special membership category for him (pre surgery), to finally making him president for two years. I helped out with Q-space, BIO and several Gender Odyssey conferences too. We both pulled back on our kink organizational stuff when we moved up to Powell Riviera six (?) years ago (though I haven’t missed a Wet Spot in Paradise yet), but now that I’m back down here I’m happy to be on the board of MVK, and doing workshops again and I’ll ‘prolly have something to do with any resurrection of VASM. I like playpartys (hence the working with orgs that throw them), it’s a good way to feel like you got lots of folks off (and they’re a good place to inspire/make those lovely loud noises). Please don’t think I’m altruistic, I believe in enlightened self interest, I’m building a world I want to live in. Who knows what could happen next?
